Clay Travis thinks that most great TV shows go out the same way our best athletes do, as a shell of themselves. Clay says that TV series should shoot for John Elway, Peyton Manning and Michael Jordan type greatness, riding off on top (Clay refuses to count Jordan's Wizards years.) Instead, many series finales and popular athletes are similar because they make fans want to erase their final years from their memories. We want to remember the "Basket Catch", not an older Willie Mays stumbling around in the outfield.
Unfortunately for Game of Thrones, Clay says they're a first ballot Hall of Famer that played two years too long.
