Chris Broussard Says the Lakers Gave Up Too Much in Anthony Davis Trade

Chris Broussard: “The Lakers gave up too much… The Pelicans got Ingram, Lonzo, Hart and the fourth pick and I think that would have been enough. To throw in the two future first round picks takes it over the top. The Lakers had the leverage and didn’t have to give up that much because obviously Boston wasn’t going to break the bank to give up all their young assets on the chances he would re-sign after one year.”

Listen to NBA insider and Fox Sports Radio host Chris Broussard join The Herd to talk about the colossal Los Angeles Lakers/New Orleans Pelicans trade that shook the NBA to its core.

The Lakers had been trying to acquire 6-time All-Star Anthony Davis for months but had badly botched an in-season February trade that ultimately ruined the season for LA. Finally, on Friday night the team struck a deal with New Orleans to acquire the lame duck 2020 free agent in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first round picks that will include the no. 4 pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft.

Check out the audio above as Broussard tells Colin Cowherd that he thinks the Lakers gave up too much for the one-year rental.
