Howard Beck Says the Los Angeles Lakers Gave Up Too Much For Anthony Davis

Howard Beck: “The Pelicans should NOT have had much leverage... They got the Lakers two best young players –– I don’t want to hear anyone tell me Kyle Kuzma is better than Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram –– and have control of the Lakers drafts for the next 6 years. That’s a lot to pay when the guy wanted to come anyway, the team he was leaving HAD to offload him, and who were they bidding against anyway?? They had no other great offers and were bidding against themselves.”

Listen to Bleacher Report NBA writer Howard Beck join The Dan Patrick Show to explain why the Los Angeles Lakers made a peculiar move in their deal to acquire Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, considering they were essentially bidding against themselves.

Check out the interview above as Beck says he believes Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram are BETTER than Kyle Kuzma, and wonders how the Pelicans were able to command such a big package considering Boston and New York, the two other teams who wanted AD, had puny offers compared to what LA what was willing to unload.
