Ric Bucher: The NBA Titles Are Over For Golden State If Kevin Durant Leaves

Ric Bucher: “This whole notion that the Warriors are still going to be uber competitive… NO. Someone in the organization said to me that if Kevin Durant leaves, the championships are OVER. Klay, Steph, and Draymond are beaten down physically because of this run too, and now they’re not getting any relief. I would love to tell you there’s a keyhole for them to walk through and still be some semblance of what they’ve been, but that keyhole does not exist.”

Listen to NBA insider and Draft analyst Ric Bucher join Doug Gottlieb (filling in for Colin Cowherd) on The Herd to discuss how Kevin Durant’s catastrophic Achilles injury has enormously affected the sport’s next decade.

The likely free agent-to-be still has a player option available with the hometown Warriors, but is widely expected to become an unrestricted FA next month when the signing period begins.

Sadly for Warriors fans, Bucher thinks Durant’s exodus from one of the greatest dynasties in the sport’s history would mean their great run instantly imploding, as Bucher says even someone within the Warrior franchise admitted to him that there’s going to be no more titles if KD indeed takes his talents to New York City.
