Chris Broussard Says Daryl Morey is an 'Overrated' General Manager

Chris Broussard: “Daryl Morey is a good GM, but he’s overrated. This notion that he might be the best GM in the NBA or in sports? NO HE’S NOT. He chases big names regardless of chemistry, regardless of fit, and regardless of the human element. Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, now maybe Jimmy Butler... JIMMY BUTLER DOES NOT FIT WITH THE ROCKETS.”

Listen to NBA insider and co-host of The Odd Couple Chris Broussard join the Herd to explain why he thinks Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is overrated.

Morey is arguably the league’s most identifiable front office face for his introduction of advanced analytics into the game of basketball, but his results haven’t exactly been extraordinary. In 13 seasons since 2007, Houston hasn’t made a single NBA Finals and his teams have never been able to beat the arch-rival Warriors in a playoff series.

Broussard wonders why Morey is at the tip of everyone’s tongue when it comes to praising NBA executives, when his biggest splashes the last half-decade – Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, and Carmelo Anthony – have all been epic catastrophes.

Check out the audio below as Chris tells Colin Cowherd that Morey is a ‘good’ GM but he’s absolutely OVERRATED.
