Clay Travis Says KCTV-5 Was Dishonest By Editing Leaked Tyreek Hill Audio

Clay Travis: “I think the local Kansas City television station did not do a good job handling this audio in the way that they edited it. I understand you only have a 30-minute or one hour nightly news telecast and don’t wanna play the entire 11-minute audio, but if they don’t wanna play the entire audio they had an obligation to put as much out there for everyone to be able to hear. Context matters incredibly in stories such as these. You can’t just toss out a small portion of any conversation and believe that you’re getting the totality of it. They edited this clip to make it appear that Tyreek Hill was guilty and that he wasn’t defending himself from those allegations of guilt.”

Listen to Clay Travis discuss reports of newly leaked audio between embattled Kansas City Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill and his then-fiancee Crystal Espinal that a local KC television station mysteriously left out when they first released the secretly recorded conversation last April.

The first leak detailed an argument between Hill and Espinal over apparent injuries their son had suffered, that Hill’s fiancée alleges that Hill himself caused.

The new audio reveals Hill denying a 2014 domestic charge that got him thrown off the Oklahoma State football team, as he pled guilty to the charges back in 2015.

Hill is heard in the video saying:

"You was in my house. And, did I pick you up and slam you? Hell no, I picked you up and put you out my door and after that you left… And, on my son you did that, bro. And then you get in the courtroom, you want to sit up there and cry on the stand. ‘He hit me, he hit me.’ Man, come on, bro. Did I hit you? Tell me the truth in my eyes right now. Look at me."

Clay thinks the television station conveniently left these parts of the conversation out of their original leak, which would have provided context to Hill denying much of his violent relationship with his fiancée.

KCTV-5 alleges they only released the ‘newsworthy’ parts of the audio, which included Hill most notably muttering ‘You need to terrified of me too, b****’.

Check out the full audio below as Clay says the editing came off as biased and selective.
