Julio Jones: “I’m going crazy this year. I’ve been doing everything that I need to do. I’m taking care of my body. Physically and mentally, I’ll be ready to go… I’m not a prediction-type guy, but I might mess around and go get three thousand, you know what I’m talking about.”
Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones raised plenty of eye brows across the league Wednesday, after an interview he had with the local Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper, in which the 30-year-old said he’s eyeing a 3,000-yard season in 2019.

You would think Jones misspoke and said ‘2,000’ considering no player has even hit that plateau.
The single-season record holder in the NFL is former Detroit Lion, Calvin Johnson, who put 1,964 yards in a memorable 2012 season for the pass-happy, albeit, hapless Lions.
In eight NFL seasons, the six-time Pro Bowler Jones has put up six 1,000-yard seasons, including leading the league in receiving yards in 2015 and last season in 2018. His career-high for yards in a season is 1,871 in the aforementioned 2015 campaign.
To reach 3,000 yards Jones would have to average 187.5 receiving yards a game, which would nearly double his career average of 96.7 yards.
