Chris Broussard: “When Carmelo Anthony looks at that roster, he’s going to say, ‘OK, Kyrie… And then ME. He’s looking at it like I’m giving these guys 20 a night as the second option. Caris Levert, Joe Harris, and Spencer Dinwiddie are good players, but they aren’t better than Carmelo Anthony. We talk about him being a role player, but I think he’d go there and be like ‘Imma give ‘em 20, I’m OLD ‘Melo.’” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)
Listen to Chris Broussard explain why he thinks notable NBA free agent Carmelo Anthony could resurrect his career on the Brooklyn Nets after there were reports that Nets superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were ‘pushing’ for the fledgling franchise to sign the future Hall of Famer.
Anthony, a ten-time All-Star who was once considered the game’s most lethal scorer, hasn’t appeared in an NBA game since November of 2018, and has since tip-toed the line of ‘washed up’, but is still just five months older than MVP candidate LeBron James, and his exodus from the league has a lot more to do than the drama that his name brings, more than his actual talent.
Check out the audio below as Broussard believes Carmelo would be the second best player on a Nets team that will likely be without Durant the entire season, on a budding group of role players that packs a lethal punch on the offensive side of the court.
