Ben Maller: “This is a measuring stick moment for Rob Manfred as a commissioner. Major League Baseball needs to take a page out of the Myles Garrett playbook and throw down Thor’s hammer on the head of those weasels in the Astros organization like Jeff Luhnow, AJ Hinch, and all the other bad actors over there. They need to vacate the 2017 World Series and give out lifetime bans for those involved. Every player who played for the Astros during this time were all complicit and should have to pay a price. It should keep Jose Altuve out of the Hall of Fame.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)
Listen to Ben Maller explain why he believes Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred needs to drop the hammer on the Houston Astros for their role in the developing allegations being levied against them for using technology to unlawfully steal signs from opponents.
It’s been a little over a week since The Athletic implicated the Astros on damning illegal sign stealing allegations that would rank as one of the most reckless and egregious cheating scandals in the history of American sports should the accusations actually carry any legitimacy.
Maller says this gives Manfred a landmark opportunity to footnote himself in the annals of baseball forever should he choose to justifiably crush the Astros with not only lifetime bans for individuals like GM Jeff Luhnow and manager AJ Hinch, but the stripping of Houston's 2017 World Series title as well.
Check out the audio below as Maller believes the Astros are in one of the most precarious and dire positions we’ve ever seen a sports franchise be in.
