Miami Dolphins Pull Off One of the Greatest Trick Plays in NFL History

With a record of 2-9, the Miami Dolphins have nothing to lose this season. Going into Sunday's (December 1) matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dolphins were 10.5-point underdogs at home.

Trailing by six points with 4:44 left in the first half, the Dolphins were facing a fourth and goal from the one-yard line and sent out the field goal unit for the chip-shot field goal. Instead of lining up in a typical formation, Dolphin's kicker Jason Sanders and four blockers lined up on the left side of the field, while three blockers went to the right side. The punter Matt Haack lined up behind the center and took the snap.

Haack ran left as the Eagles defenders tried to tackle him. He barely evaded a tackle and tossed a no-look pass towards the end zone, right into the hands of Sanders to tie the game. They would kick the extra point to take a one-point lead.

It was the first time since 1977 that a kicker caught a touchdown pass, and who knows if it will ever happen again this decade.

The lead was short-lived as the Eagles drove down the field and scored a touchdown and converted the two-point conversion to take a 21-14 lead into halftime.
