Clay Travis Wants NFL Playoff System Changed so Better Teams Are Rewarded

Clay Travis believes there needs to be a change made in the way the NFL seeds their playoff teams. Sunday night, the Seattle Seahawks lost out on their division title by a matter of inches, as they fell short to the San Francisco 49ers. With the loss, Seattle finished second in the NFC West, and now have to travel to Philadelphia for their opening playoff game, even though the Seahawks finished the season 11-5 and the Eagles finished the season 9-7.

"I think this is insane that the NFL continues to do this. Giving a team that went 11-5 in the Seahawks the non-home playoff game and making them travel all the way across the country is absurd to me."

Clay also points out that the Seahawks had to play a much harder schedule than the Eagles because their division, the NFC West, is a much more difficult division with the 49ers (the number one seed in the NFC), as well as the defending NFC champion LA Rams. The Eagles, on the other hand, got to play the Giants and Redskins two times each.

Clay Travis polls his Twitter audience and the Outkick crew on whether the NFL should give the top four seeds in the playoffs to the teams with the four best records, or to the four teams that win their division.
