Limited Dak Prescott Deserves Franchise Tag, Not Long-Term Contract

Colin Cowherd: “After watching Lamar Jackson’s speed, Josh Allen’s size, Patrick Mahomes’ arm, and Kyler Murray’s escapability, how does Dak Prescott making $37 million a year feel to you?? NOT GREAT. Every great young quarterback in this league has a quality that is awe-inspiring and then you watch Dak and you’re like ‘well…he’s… pretty good…’. I keep hearing he ‘deserves’ to get a contract. ‘Deserves’ gets you fired in the NFL as a GM. Nobody cares about his 13-3 rookie season, it’s a different league. He threw 450 times that year and now they need him to throw 650 times – the more he throws the worse the Cowboys get. I like Dak, but they have something called the Franchise Tag for guys like him and Ryan Tannehill.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he believes Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott deserves to be franchised tagged during his upcoming fling with free agency.

The Cowboys are highly unlikely to just let the 26-year-old walk, as the team hasn’t been presumably linked to other any big name free agent quarterback this month, but Dallas has to decide how much money they’re willing to pay a guy who reportedly turned down a lucrative $30 million per season offer last year.

Check out the video above as Colin is extremely lukewarm on Dak. Colin says after seeing a season where young quarterbacks wooed the league with unique talents, he isn’t too high on any unique abilities shown by Prescott that would warrant him a deal tipping the $35 million per season plateau.
