Jay Glazer Says He Didn't Report Chargers Had 'Moved On' From Philip Rivers

Jay Glazer: “I was filming a Super Bowl pregame show and all of the sudden my phone starts going nuts and people were like ‘hey, congrats on your scoop!’ and I’m like ‘what are you talking about??’. Somebody used me saying a half-sentence opinion about Drew Brees… When I report something, you know it. When I say Odell Beckham is going to be traded in the offseason, BAM. I said years ago in Week 1 that Jim Harbaugh will not be back as head coach of the 49ers, even if they didn’t win the Super Bowl. When I report something, I am good with putting it out there. This wasn’t a report, this was a half-sentence on a radio show that someone pulled and made a ‘report’ on. Even the Chargers called me saying ‘You didn’t report this’ and I was like ‘I KNOW!’” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Jay Glazer join The Doug Gottlieb Show to shoot down the reports from earlier this week that had been linked to Jay, where he supposedly reported that the Los Angeles Chargers had officially ‘moved on’ from quarterback Philip Rivers.

The report essentially went viral, with media companies across the country picking up on the story like it was some breaking news scoop that Glazer had broken first.

In the video below, while making an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Glazer was talking about New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and whether or not he was retiring. Glazer said the Giants had already moved on from Eli Manning, the Chargers had already moved on from Philip Rivers, Tom Brady had a choice to where he was going to go, and that Brees’ choice to return was up to him.

Glazer says the response was simply his opinion, and had nothing to do with any insider information he may have known. However, someone cut Glazer’s quote saying the Chargers had moved on Rivers, and re-packaged it as a breaking news report that Glazer had just broken on The Herd.

Check out the video above as Glazer details why although it doesn’t appear like Rivers will return to the Chargers, he NEVER reported that to be actual fact with any sort of sourcing tied to it.
