Colin Cowherd: “Sports is about FIT. Draymond Green is great in Golden State with a very mature coaching staff and roster. If you tell Draymond to be your number 2 scorer on a young and squirrely team with a bad coach, you’d never hear from Draymond again. But on finesse Golden State he’s the tough guy. Wiggins is a really good fit as the three. They have the best backcourt of my lifetime, Draymond is inconsistent offensively and so is Looney. What you need is a guy on that wing who can give you 27 on any given night. He’s not Kevin Durant but he’s better than Harrison Barnes. He’s not as good of a defender as I thought he would be out of Kansas, and he’s not a great 3 point shooter, but he has his moments, and he’s very athletic. He’s a nice 3 going to a super smart system who won’t lean on him to carry the franchise. (Full Video Above)
Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss the blockbuster NBA trade on Thursday that most notably sent former number one overall pick Andrew Wiggins from the Minnesota Timberwolves to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for former number two pick D’Angelo Russell.
Colin thinks it was a good trade for both teams, but especially likes the move for the Warriors, who are in the midst of one of the most transitional seasons in sports history going from dynasty to bottom feeder, and potentially dynasty once again next season.
Check out the video above as Colin details why he loves the aspects of Wiggins joining a Warriors team that will be bringing back a healthy Steph Curry and Klay Thompson next season, to join Draymond Green and a lottery pick as well, as Colin believes the Warriors could instantly be back atop the Western Conference.
