Colin Cowherd is finally warming up to Houston Rockets superstar guard Russell Westbrook, at least for the time being, as the television host who has normally referred to the triple-double machine as Russell ‘West-brick’, gave praise to Westbrook’s recent wave of efficient basketball in the wake of the team’s ‘small ball’ roster maneuvering at the Trade Deadline.
After two miserable shooting months in November and December, when Westbrook shot .411 and .428 from the field respectively, Westbrook posted a 52.2% in January and a 54.4% in February. Even more impressive is the fact Westbrook has cut his three-point attempts in half, averaging just 2.3 attempts per game the last two months, compared to over 5.0 per game in November and December.
The Rockets are 8-1 since they controversially traded popular big man Clint Capela, and Westbrook’s alarmingly high efficient ratings are a big reason why the team is once again establishing itself as one of the league’s best teams.
After ranking dead last in the NBA in three-point shooting last season, Westbrook hasn’t attempted more than 4 three's in a game since January 15th.
Check out the video above as Colin compliments Westbrook’s recent string of big games that has the Rockets once again in position to win 55+ games.
