Colin Cowherd: Patriots and Bill Belichick Don't Want or Need Cam Newton

Colin Cowherd: “Cam Newton is NOT Bill Belichick’s guy. You can say what you want about Cam, but accuracy is his weakness. Judgement? Not great. He is talented but his mechanics are way below average… He only completes 59% of his throws for his career and that just isn’t good enough.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss a recently unearthed scouting report that former Cleveland Browns head coach Bill Belichick had written up about quarterbacks before the 1991 NFL Draft. In the document, Belichick describes the types of characteristics he’s looking for in a signal-caller, to which Colin says Cam Newton is literally the antithesis of everything Belichick desired.

Newton’s career is at an uncertain crossroads, as the former league MVP who is still just 30-years-old remains unsigned in a quarterback market that still has big names the likes of Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton as well.

Speculation has greatly varied on where Newton could potentially end up with vacancies at an extreme minimum, but Colin says that will definitely never be with Belichick and the Patriots.

Check out the video above as Colin details why the market for Newton is practically microscopic at this point, and why Newton’s skill sets and being thrown by the wayside.
