Former All-Pro Punter Pat McAfee Wants to Make NFL Comeback With Buccaneers

Rich Eisen: “Everybody wants to play with Brady. What about you?? You got any thoughts about coming out of retirement and maybe kicking some balls for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?”
Pat McAfee: “I’d be completely lying if I said I didn’t go to my backyard and start punting balls this week… I’ve got a lot of older friends who are free agents that are calling me up saying ‘Let’s go down to Tampa and try to get a Super Bowl ring.’ There is definitely some thought on my end… I would be lying if I said I did not see if I could go and try to make that Buccaneers team.” (Full Interview Above)

Listen to former NFL All-Pro punter Pat McAfee join The Rich Eisen Show to discuss his plans at a possible comeback to the league, as the 32-year-old who was once considered arguably the game’s best punter, says he is seriously considering coming out of retirement to try and make the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster in 2020.

McAfee played for the Indianapolis Colts from 2009-2016 before retiring in the prime of his career to become an NFL media member and sports radio talk show host.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians was the offensive coordinator for the Colts in 2012, as well as the interim head coach later that year, and McAfee says he knows many current members of the Bucs coaching staff that Arians brought with him from the Indianapolis teams McAfee was a part of.

Check out the interview above as McAfee says he’s received text messages from veteran players and friends of his saying they want to win a ring in Tampa Bay and team up with Tom Brady for one last hurrah.
