Tom Brady Facing 'Stern Punishment' For Illegal Interaction with Bucs Staff

Jason La Canfora: “NFL teams are miffed about Tom Brady's interactions with staff members in Tampa despite restrictions. They are anticipating some stern discipline from the NFL office. Many have conveyed their dismay to league officials”

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora is reporting that many NFL teams are demanding that the league punish Tom Brady for his controversial interactions with Tampa Bay Buccaneers staff this offseason during the coronavirus pandemic, which were perceived to be in violation of league rules.

After signing a two-year, $50 million deal with the team, Brady hasn’t exactly laid low while the league, much like the rest of the world, has been in lockdown.

Earlier this month Brady reportedly walked into the wrong house of a Tampa residence, believing it was the home of Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

The story may have seemed harmless, but the NFL had already mandated strict rules against players and coaches meeting face-to-face this offseason, with COVID-19 still running roughshod.

The state of Florida currently has a stay-at-home order urging all residents to avoid ‘non-essential’ interactions.

ESPN’s Jenna Laine, who closely follows the Buccaneers, reported that Brady said he was only going to Leftwich’s house to ‘pick up materials’ and that he didn’t intend to hold any type of sit-down meeting.

This story paired with the news that Brady had been working out in a local park in Tampa against the town’s ordinances haven’t really looked good in the news either, especially with Brady joking about it on Twitter and receiving over 4,000 comments; many being very critical of Brady not taking the quarantine seriously.
