Joe Dumars Details Why His Pistons Teammates Didn't Shake the Bulls' Hands

Listen to former Detroit Pistons star Joe Dumars detail to Chris Broussard and Rob Parker what happened that fateful night on May 27th, 1991, when the Chicago Bulls finished off their sweep of arch-rival Detroit.

In episodes 3 and 4 of ESPN's 'The Last Dance' documentary, the piece covered ex-Detroit Pistons icon Dennis Rodman, and his role as a former Bulls' antagonizer, but it also covered the bitter hatred between the Bulls and Pistons, and the notorious walk-off that was supposedly led by Isiah Thomas and Bill Laimbeer.

In the interview with Bulls players Michael Jordan, Horace Grant, Scottie Pippen, and Bill Cartwright, you can tell the moment is still fresh on their minds.

The Pistons infamously walked off the court before the buzzer sounded in Game 4 of the 1991 Eastern Conference, and the entire team besides Dumars and former Pistons forward John Salley, refused to shake hands with Chicago.

Dumars was a six-time All-Star who played an integral role on the Pistons' 'Bad Boy' championship teams of the late-80's, and is considered one of the best defensive players in NBA history.

Check out the interview above as Dumars explains the reports that Chris had shared on Jordan’s inflammatory comments he reportedly made before Game 4, and expounds on why his teammates walked off the court so bitterly that night.
