Former Bulls Player Upset Michael Jordan Discussed Team's Cocaine Use

Craig Hodges: “One of the things as players we call this a fraternity. So I’m watching the first episode and I was upset about the ‘cocaine circus.’ That bothered me because I was thinking about the brothers who are on that picture with you who have to explain to their families who are getting ready to watch this great Michael Jordan documentary event and they know you’re on the team, and now you’ve got to explain that to a 12-year-old boy.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to former Chicago Bulls sharpshooter Craig Hodges join The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker to vent some of his frustrations with ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance’ documentary that chronicles Michael Jordan’s storied history with the Bulls from his rookie season of 1984, all the way to his final season in Chicago in 1998.

One of the most memorable admissions of the documentary thus far was the director asking Jordan about his rookie season on the Bulls, and asked to discuss rumors of the team’s rampant cocaine use. The team was reportedly nicknamed the ‘Bulls Traveling Cocaine Circus.’

Hodges thought it was wrong for Jordan to include that part in the documentary, and said all the players on that 1984-1985 Bulls team now have to explain what Jordan was talking about in that episode to their families that may include young children.
