4th of July Should Be a Spectacular Return for Sports

Clay Travis is becoming even more and more optimistic about the return of the major sports leagues. Professional golf, as well a NASCAR were back on TV this past weekend, and that was a welcome sight. NASCAR's first race back, at Darlington was a wild success.

Clay believes that the biggest issue in getting back to action could be money, and not so much the health factor. Clay plays audio from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Cuomo states that he believes that bringing sports back is the right thing to do and it can be done in a safe way for his state of New York.

Clay also plays audio from California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has surprisingly had a shift in opinion. There had been talk about no pro sports in the state until 2021. Just last week, the LA Times ran an article which quoted LA County public health leader Barbara Ferrer, which seemed to point to another three months of California lockdowns. Governor Newsom surprised many people yesterday with a different picture, as he announced that California could have games played in the first week of June, without fans in attendance.

Clay says that all the major sports leagues should be playing by July 4th, if they can get out of their own way, in terms of agreements between owners and players. Clay brings in the Outkick crew to get a gauge of what life looks like now as compared to what the scene was just a few weeks ago.
