NASCAR Reports Noose Found in Bubba Wallace's Garage at Talladega

NASCAR has confirmed that a noose was found today in the garage stall of the 43 team of Bubba Wallace at Talladega, Alabama. Wallace is the only Black driver in the Cup Series.

NASCAR said in a statement:

"We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act...There is no place for racism in NASCAR."

Wallace said the following regarding the incident: "Today's despicable act of racism and hatred leaves me incredibly saddened and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society..."

NASCAR has limited the access to such areas since it returned from this season's COVID-19 suspension.

NASCAR's 500 was rained out today. It will run tomorrow at 3pm ET on Fox TV.

Some fans are allowed to attend, with face masks required.

The Confederate flag, which is now banned at NASCAR events, was flown by some fans outside the Talladega Superspeedway today.
