Five Reasons Why Cam Newton is an Awkward Fit in New England

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks Cam Newton will be an ‘awkward’ fit in New England as the former banished free agent quarterback somewhat miraculously found his way onto an iconic organization despite it being a nearly foregone conclusion that Newton would start the season unsigned.

Despite Colin believing that the Jarrett Stidham experience will last merely a few quarters, Colin doesn’t see Cam meshing well with a Patriots offense that severely lacks deep threats and game-breaking weapons. Cowherd says he can’t picture Newton doing much damage with a system that relies on methodical and often plodding 10+ play drives that lack much intuition, and certainly are absent of any home run plays.

Even though the former MVP will be teaming up with a Patriots squad with one of the best defenses in the NFL, Colin says he sees the Patriots going from an impotent 6-10 with Stidham, to a compelling, yet mediocre 8-8 with Newton.

Check out the video below as Colin details the five reasons why he’s not jumping on the Patriots bandwagon for 2020.
