Tom Pelissero: “Bruce, you had a situation that came to light with Antonio Brown. I know that the team put out a statement saying that since he’s been with the Buccaneers he has met all expectations that you’d laid out for him. You’ve also known that guy for a long time, so when you hear about a situation like this that occurred just a few weeks ago and it does follow a pattern for him, what is your level of concern, if any, that at some point in the next couple of months here you’re going to get a call in the middle of the night saying there’s an issue?”
Bruce Arians: “Really none. We knew of the incident. He’s been a model citizen. If and when he’s not, we’ll move on. He knows that, and our team knows that. I don’t really think we’re going to have any problems. We haven’t had any so far, and I really would not anticipate any.”
Despite another scandalous story hitting the news this week involving Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Antonio Brown, Bucs head coach Bruce Arians says AB has been a ‘model citizen’ since he arrived in Tampa on October 27th.
When asked of his level of concern for another viral incident, Arians confidently responded ‘I really would not anticipate any’, and said the team will ‘move on’ if Brown screws up again, adding ‘he knows that, and our team knows that.’
On Monday, news came to light that Brown was being accused of destroying a security camera and throwing a bicycle at security guard on October 15th in the community he lives.
The president of the ‘Hollywood Oaks’ community said they declined to press charges because they said were afraid that Brown might ‘retaliate against her employees.’
The president, Sylvia Berman, would later downplay the incident, however, saying that Brown had offered to replace the broken camera, and that they didn't press charges because Brown's actions were minor. She later called Brown a ‘hero’ for his big game vs. the Carolina Panthers in Week 10, a game the Bucs won 46-23.
Brown has 10 receptions for 100 yards in two games with the Bucs, including a 7-catch game for 69 yards in Carolina last Sunday.
