Baylor is your new college basketball National Champions. The Bears were hot from the start against an unbeaten Gonzaga team, and they won in dominant fashion. Clay Travis reacts to Baylor's dominance, and he puts this win into a little perspective.
Clay believes that there is a strong case to be made for Baylor head coach Scott Drew as the best coach in all of college basketball, relative to his program's expectations and history. Prior to Drew taking over in 2003, Baylor had only made the NCAA Tournament a total of 4 times. On top of that, Drew was taking over the program on the heels of a massive scandal, where the previous coach was fired for his involvement in trying to help cover up a murder that was committed by one of the players. Baylor was chaos.
Now, Drew has led Baylor from that situation, all the way to a Final Four and a National Title. A truly incredible journey over his 18 years at the program. Congrats to Baylor, and job well done to Scott Drew.
