Despite being cut by two different teams, Cam Newton is in denial about the end of his career. He seems to think he still has value in the league despite all evidence to the contrary. Doug compares his attitude to the five stages of grief, where Cam has yet to get past stage 1. He couldn’t manage to beat out a rookie quarterback for a roster spot, yet he continues to claim it’s his “aura” that got him cut from the Patriots instead of his obviously declining skills. While Doug agrees Cam would have been a distraction for the Patriots, it’s not for the reasons Cam thinks it was.
