Bill Belichick's Tainted Past Makes It Hard to Name NFL Awards After Him

In the video above, Chris Broussard & Rob Parker react to a comment from Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury who spoke to the media ahead of his team's matchup with the LA Rams. Kingsbury was asked about being in the conversation for coach of the year alongside Bill Belichick, and he said:

"They should just name the award Bill Belichick and when he retires, bring that back," Kingsbury said. "Until he retires, I don't think anyone else should get that award. He should be that every single year he is coaching."

It's incredibly high praise from Kingsbury to his peer, but Rob Parker argues that such of move could be considered an injustice by many considering the past Belichick has, be it Spygate from 2007 or Deflategate of 2015.

Rob Parker: "To say that he should win it every year and name it after him, I got news for you! There was a huge cheating scandal involving Bill Belichick as well. So there will be no statue or no trophy named after Bill Belichick from the league. I hate to break it to you...He has that hanging over his head. There are still people who will never give Bill Belichick and the Patriots their full credit."
