On today's "Straight Outta Vegas with RJ Bell," RJ Bell and AJ Hoffman examine a popular look-ahead line in Vegas between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts which currently has the Colts at -2.5 favorites. The guys dive into the very influential home-field advantage factor for the Colts, despite the Patriots originally being -2.5 point favorites before the teams each had a week 14 bye.

RJ Bell: "So the look-ahead line, the line that's a week before the game, in theory, what happens is there is another week of games. So what use is that? 1. You can get down a week early... 2. You get to see how that week's games affect things... But here we have a very curious situation. The Pats had a bye. The Colts had a bye. So nothing has happened since last week. Last week the line opened up Patriots on the road favored by -2.5. At the end of the betting last week, so before this week's games, the line has moved to pickem, so the early money was on the Colts from +2.5 down to a pickem... So -2.5 point favorites the Patriots were, to +2.5 underdogs now. So what we know is there is a home field advantage at 2.5 points for the Colts. So, the Vegas market is saying the Indy Colts are equal to the Patriots.
