Reports on Wednesday suggested that Troy Aikman will be leaving FOX for Monday Night Football on ESPN and will be getting somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 million per year to make the switch. Ben Maller doesn't think the investment will be worth while.
Ben Maller: "The argument to payout this money is: 'Well, people want to watch Troy Aikman and they will purposely tune in to a garbage game to hear what Troy Aikman has to say. Aikman does not qualify as that type of broadcaster...people don't tune in to hear what Aikman has to say. The reality of it is: I can't think of anyone as a commentator right now, other than Charles Barkley that I will tune in to hear what they have to say."
