The Cleveland Browns Made One Mistake

Today on The Dan Patrick Show, Doug Gottlieb and Jason McIntyre fill in for the DP crew and discuss the shift in the hot market for NFL wide receivers after some off season signings and reports of participation holdouts by significant on-field threats. Then, the guys shifted to another NFL market that's not so valuable at the moment, and quite frankly, is in a sharp decline: the Baker Mayfield market.

Doug Gottlieb: "Actually, the mistake the Browns made was picking up the 5th year option for Mayfield. Right? It's not just that they were smart to not give him a contract extension. They were dumb to pick up the 5th year because now, they have this dead weight of a lame-duck guy for $19 million that nobody wants to take."
Jason McIntyre: "He got hurt!"
Doug Gottlieb: "If it was simply because he got hurt, then there would be a market for Baker Mayfield..."
