The ballyhooed next generation of Manning football player, Arch Manning committed to play his collegiate football at Texas, and Dan Patrick wishes him luck because he’ll need it. It’s a good start for Texas as they try to compete in the ultra-competitive SEC, but the program has struggled as of late, and while adding a quarterback of Manning’s caliber is a step in the right direction, they still need to make improvements to the rest of the team if they truly want to turn things around.
Dan Patrick: “Texas hasn’t won more than 10 games in a decade. Last year finished with a losing record but Arch Manning, that’s a great step. But you’re going to need to have a little more than just one player to turn around a roster because when you go into the SEC, it’s nice to have a good quarterback, it’s even better when you have a nice team.”
