N.I.L. Needs Guardrails

University of Georgia Head Football Coach, Kirby Smart spoke out to defend the Name, Image and Likeness rules that allow for student athletes to earn money while playing amateur athletics, but he does agree there need to be some guardrails in place to keep schools from using these rules to gain an unfair recruiting advantage. Not only does Doug agree with Coach Smart, he has some suggestions about exactly what form those guardrails should take.

Doug Gottlieb: “I don’t know what the answer...I mean, I actually think I do know the answer: you can’t get Name, Image, and Likeness money until you’ve played a season for the school, or you’ve been at the school for a season.”
