New York Jets Head Coach, Robert Saleh told reporters this morning that QB Zach Wilson is going to start the season on the sidelines as he continues to recover from a preseason knee injury, possibly starting in Week 4 vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers. Doug wonders if it isn’t too early to throw in the towel on Zach Wilson while he is still on his rookie contract. For reasons that aren’t all related to his on-field play, it feels like this is a make-or-break year for Wilson.
Doug Gottlieb: “You have a quarterback on a rookie contract scale, years 2, 3 & 4 are the money years...and because of how much (Zach Wilson) played last year...it feels more ‘make-or-break’ this year...it feels more like; is Zach Wilson kind of a lemon?”
