Rob Parker: "This Story Hits Home For Me, and I Sympathize with Gisele"

Rob Parker: “This story is personal to me, because I’ve gone through something similar.... I’m going to side with Gisele on this. Not in my situation because I think it’s different. I was trying to establish myself, build a career, and we had no children. Tom Brady is established, has built a legacy, and his wife has been a good soldier through all of this, put in the time with the kids, and she just wants him to be there. All of Tom Brady’s teammates he played with and brought up, have all retired and with their families. He just refuses to retire, and I believe she was blindsided by him announcing his return. At the time I was engaged, I was working a radio show from 10pm-1am, and every night my fiancé and I would argue. She would beg me not to go to work, but I put aside my free time with my friends and family to have a career. At the end of the day, I told her, I didn’t want to give up my career because I would have resented her.”
Chris Broussard: “I think a few things in Tom Brady’s situation differ from yours, Rob. He can’t really add much to his legacy, honestly. If he wins another Super Bowl, great, but he’s already won 7. What difference does 8 make? It’s certainly different because kids are involved, and one of the things that makes it look bad, is he explicitly stated his retirement was to spend time with his family. 40 days after he said that, he was back.”

The Odd Couple’s Chris Broussard and Rob Parker discuss Tom Brady and Gisel Bündchen reportedly hiring divorce lawyers. Rob sides with Gisel on the matter, based on personal experiences, while Chris explains why Brady’s return to the NFL looked bad in the first place.
