The San Francisco 49ers clinched the NFC West with their victory over the Seattle Seahawks last night in Brock Purdy’s second start in his career. Steve Covino suggests that the Niners should keep their rookie QB of the field as much as possible considering they’ve already clinched the NFC West. They’d kill two birds with one stone by giving the kid some rest going into the playoffs and keeping opposing coaches from getting enough tape to develop an effective game plan against him.
Steve Covino: “Before the league figures (Brock Purdy) out, maybe they rest him a little bit the next few weeks since the 49ers aren’t playing for anything. They clinched.”
