Jason Whitlock: “They [ESPN] are trying to stuff this woman down all of our throats. Every day they’re ‘BRITTNEY GRINER FARTED AND IT SMELLED LIKE COLLARD GREENS’... I mean, some kind of headline about Brittany Griner every day. ‘BRITTNEY GRINER EMOTIONAL AFTER HOME GAME RETURN’… NO ONE CARES. They care so little about this over-hyped first game of her return from Russian prison or whatever, half of Crypto Arena was empty and her coach complained about it. Vanessa Nygaard: “It was great but honestly, c’mon, LA, like, we didn’t sell out the arena for BG? I expected more to be honest. It was great, it was loud, but how was it not a sellout??”… The way they're trying to stuff this down our throats like people are interested. ESPN has this alternate universe that people are on the edge of ‘WHAT’S GOING ON WITH BRITTNEY GRINER??’ They could be promoting more talented players, more marketable players. Nobody wants to see this 6’8” tatted up woman. Nobody wants to see that. Move on or just find someone please— Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, ANYBODY, get to the WNBA as soon as possible so they can quit marketing [Brittney Griner]. I would take that over Brittney Griner, at least she's not covered in tattoos. Brittney Griner is unwatchable, plays an unexciting style of basketball— truly they got better players to push and tell us to watch than some 6’8” person covered in tattoos. I can get that in the NBA from real athletes, why do I need to see it in the WNBA?” (Full Segment Above)
Watch Jason Whitlock of ‘Fearless’ discuss Brittney Griner’s first regular season game back in the WNBA after being imprisoned in Russia for nearly ten months, as Whitlock mocks Phoenix Mercury head coach Vanessa Nygaard for calling out Los Angeles Sparks fans for not selling out Crypto.com Arena to see Griner’s on-court return from Russia.
Check out the segment above as Whitlock says the media’s fascination with Griner has reached unbearable levels.
