Jason Smith: “It’s so unbelievably embarrassing for baseball that you have a team making the playoffs, I know it’s a day game, I know it’s a Wednesday...they’ve had a good team for a while. You should have been able to have cultivated and built a fanbase by now. The Rays aren’t doormats! Still, this is what you get the first day. 19,000 people.”
Mike Harmon: “Let’s go back to basics, as we’ve talked about in all these sports...it’s about the TV deals. It’s about the TV product. Is my product lessened because some guy didn’t leave his job or the nursing home to go to the game? The television model, and the revenues, a lot of that all comes together...should they have been packed? Absolutely.”
On today’s edition of The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon, Jason and Mike talk about the embarrassing attendance problems at today’s opening playoff game between the Rays and the Rangers, as only 19,000 people showed up!
