Caleb Williams Won’t Be Winning the Heisman This Season

The #10 USC Trojans lost at #21 Notre Dame on Saturday, and while it hasn’t entirely ruined their chances to win a national championship, defending Heisman Trophy winner, QB Caleb Williams’ performance dropped him way behind in this season’s Heisman race. Unless current frontrunner Michael Penix Jr. has a stinker for the Washington Huskies, it looks like Williams’ 3-INT performance vs. the Irish has crushed his chances to repeat.

Dan Patrick: “Caleb Williams, I think...he probably lost his chance for the Heisman. Unless Michael Penix has one of those games, but that was an important game for Caleb Williams; national TV, that’s your Heisman moment. He’s already had Heisman moments, but it feels like he’s got to do even more to impress us this year than last year.”
