Colin Cowherd: “There’s a story that Dan Graziano, very good reporter, is reporting that the Eagles firing Nick Sirianni on Monday [Tuesday] if they lose to the Buccaneers is on the table. This is the place that nobody is discussing with Bill Belichick because it’s not open, but I think it’s a real possibility. Strong ownership, excellent personnel guy [Howie Roseman], what they need is somebody to shore up their linebackers and secondary. That’s literally Bill Belichick’s forte. He wouldn’t have to be the personnel guru, he wouldn’t talk much with the owner, he likes to do his own thing, they’ve got the quarterback, they’ve got the receivers, tight ends, the o-line, cap is fine... That one works, but Philly would have to lose and I don’t think they will. Nick Sirianni, between his kind of juvenile sideline antics and theatrics, his anxiety at the podium, and the total erosion of the Eagles offense, and he’s an offensive guy – it appears that Nick Sirianni is a bit over his skis. It was Brandon Staley with the Chargers – the more money they spent on defense, the worse it got. They had to fire him. They’re spending plenty of money on offense in Philadelphia. It’s BAD and getting worse. All of the great coaches offensively in this league – McVay, Shanahan, Andy Reid – they lose coordinators all the time. It has very little effect on the quality of the offense. Kevin Stefanski is on his fourth quarterback; it’s had no effect on the offense. Zac Taylor lost Joe Burrow halfway through the season, they finished above .500. Sirianni just lost a coordinator [Shane Steichen]. He didn’t lose AJ Brown, he didn’t lose DeVonta Smith, he didn’t lose his left tackle, he didn’t lose Kelce... He just lost a coordinator. McVay loses them annually, Shanahan loses them regularly, Andy Reid has lost several. Sirianni loses a coordinator and it’s ‘man overboard!’... What is Nick Sirianni’s identity? Is he a great play designer? NO. A great play caller? NO. A massive culture builder like Dan Campbell in Detroit? Not really. When Sirianni got hired I talked to two or three people in the league and they all said the same thing -- ‘I don’t know if he’s ready.’ He butchered the opening press conference and looked absolutely terrified to be up there, and it was very turbulent for a year until Shane Steichen started calling plays. My guess is Shane Steichen created a shield to protect Sirianni’s limitations.” (Full Segment Above)
