Doug Gottlieb has had enough of calls to “Stop the Storm” after Duke star Kyle Filipowski injured his ankle when Wake Forest fans stormed the court over the weekend. He thinks the problem isn’t the fans on the court, it’s the lack of preparation from schools in situations where it’s obvious fans might get loose after a big home win. It’s a time-honored tradition and we need to find a way for it to continue safely.
Doug Gottlieb: “Every year we have this, ‘Do you get rid of court-storming?’ NO! You get rid of people who can’t prepare for a game properly...It’s a no-brainer! It’s just: prepare. You don’t do away with a great celebration...Don’t do away with special just because every once in a while somebody does something stupid.”
