Jason and Mike react live on air as news drops that the Bears are trading a fourth round pick to the Chargers for wide receiver Keenan Allen. The guys are in agreement: this is a tremendous move by Chicago.
Jason Smith: "I don't believe this move has anything to do with what their plans at quarterback are... Suddenly you have a couple of big time targets now in Chicago... DJ Moore is fantastic, and now Keenan Allen is not going to have to deal with the pressure of being a number one -- he can be the number two... This is a huge move by the Bears; they subtract Darnell Mooney who was catching 35 passes a year, and [replace him with] Keenan Allen, who last year caught 108 passes in 13 games... This is a great move for the Bears, who quite honestly, aren't really that far away."
Mike Harmon: "[Allen] is also the guy that will keep the drive alive... Just put the ball out there, he's gonna find space and he's gonna catch it. So for the Bears, that's about as big a win as you can have. Red zone efficiency and extending drives on third down."
