Dan Beyer & Monse Bolaños, in for Doug Gottlieb today, react to the news that Alex Morgan was left off the USWNT’s 2024 Paris Olympic roster as they prepare to build for the future, in comparison to the US Women's Basketball team and their decision to not add Caitlin Clark to the roster.
Dan Beyer: "There is group of people who could say the Alex Morgan and Caitlin Clark could be looked at maybe the same in the sense that they're loved by so many, but their game doesn't match what the team is needing at that time."
Monse Bolaños: "The USWNT wanted to go a little bit younger, and focus on building for the future, understandably so, on the other hand the USA Basketball Women's National Team could've done this by making room for Caitlin Clark, and they chose not to by keeping the team as is, based on past accolades and experience."
