Saquon Barkley Didn’t Value His Relationship with the Giants

Recent audio from “Hard Knocks” seems to signal I rift in the New York Giants front office between GM Joe Schoen and owner John Mara over losing fan-favorite RB Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles. But Doug lays the blame on Saquon considering the Giants made it clear they wanted an opportunity to match any offer he got, and the Eagles offer wasn’t much better than what the Giants had already offered. It’s obvious there was nothing the Giants could have done to keep him on the squad.

Doug Gottlieb: “Saquon Barkley said; I don’t value my relationship with the Giants. Because if you did, you wouldn’t take a deal that’s essentially the same with a little bit more money, especially when the GM told you; hey, whatever you get, come back to us and we’d like to have a chance to match.”
