Colin Cowherd: 'Submissive' Jayson Tatum 'Shrinks' Around Other Alpha Males

Colin Cowherd: “What he lacks is that ‘rip your heart out’ DNA, which most of our great players have had. He’s highly skilled, he’s a great guy, but he’s almost submissive at times. He’s not the third-best player in the NBA, he’s not the fourth-best player, and I’d argue he’s way at the back of the top 10. When you put him around all these alphas and all these highly skilled players, he disappears, he shrinks, and I feel bad for him. He’s a nice kid but there’s always been those kids that when you put them against other aggressive kids, they just don’t fit -- and he doesn't. This is not a shot at him, but Steve Kerr is telling you, Brad Stevens told you, my eyes are telling you, and your eyes are telling you he’s not a top 5 player. When he’s surrounded by alphas, he can shrink. It’s just his personality.”

Listen to Colin Cowherd of Fox Sports Radio’s The Herd call out Jayson Tatum after he was shockingly benched in the United States’ victory over Serbia on Sunday, saying it’s more proof that Tatum is not a top 5 NBA player, and is actually just a highly skilled ‘submissive’ guy who shrinks when surrounded by other alpha males.
