Matthew Sluka Should Honor the NIL Deal He Signed

UNLV QB Matthew Sluka is refusing to continue playing for the Rebels this season over a reported NIL contract dispute where he claims he was promised $100K and yet is only receiving $3K a month. Doug wants to know exactly what the NIL contract he signed actually says and wonders why he waited until after the third game of the season to make his dissatisfaction known instead of refusing to sign it in the first place. Something like this was bound to happen when the NCAA made paying players legal and it’s likely not the last dispute we’ll see.

Doug Gottlieb: “An NIL is a signed contract, OK? And he had a signed contract! If he was really offered $100K and he wasn’t getting $100K, then guess what he should have done; never play a game! But that’s not the reality. If there’s a signed contract for $3K a month, then guess how much he was making; $3K a month.”
