The NBA offseason saga of Bronny James finally came to its inevitable climax as LeBron and his son became the first father/son duo to play on the same team during last night’s opening night win for the Lakers. But the only people who actually benefited from their less than three minutes of playing time together were themselves, and perhaps the Timberwolves who outscored them by seven points during that brief stretch. This is not the kind of circus that a team looking to win a championship should be engaging in.
Doug Gottlieb: “There’s just no world in which this is about winning, or about basketball, or in any way normal or acceptable for a team that wants to win a championship in the second quarter. They treated Bronny like he’s a Make-A-Wish kid.”
