The College Football Playoff Still Needs Tweaking

We finally have our College Football Playoff bracket set and Dan Patrick address the obvious issues concerning the first year of this 12-team field. He thinks the committee needs to consider seeding the teams according to the rankings and give less importance to conference championships, especially for those schools in weaker conferences. While he understands there will be growing pains as the new system is implemented, there is no way Boise State and Arizona State should be rewarded with first-round byes.

Dan Patrick: “Clemson didn’t play anybody, Clemson won the ACC. That’s all you have to do. Arizona State; just win your conference. Boise State; win you (conference). You’re in! But then after that I think you need to have re-seeding, or seeding. I can’t be giving these schools a first-round bye. I don’t think that’s fair to the other conferences...”
