“How desperate are you to stay in the NFL when you're willing to take a pay cut to stay with the Jets? It's not like, 'I'll take a pay cut to stay with the Cowboys, the 49ers, or the Steelers.' No, you're taking a pay cut to stay with the JETS. Normally, you’d expect to get paid twice as much as anyone else is offering. But here, you’re saying, 'I’ll take a pay cut to stay with the Jets.' How insane is that?!”

Mike Harmon:

“But it makes sense, though, right? The power of New York/New Jersey and keeping your brand active as a player—it’s fuzzy math, but you can easily see how staying an active NFL QB could be more valuable than not being in the league.”
