The NBA All-Star Game Isn’t Fixable

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver addressed a small group of reporters and commented about the current state of the league and a recent proposal to completely revamp the All-Star Game. Dan reiterates his concern for the future of the NBA and thinks the All-Star Game is beyond repair. The dunk contest is tired, the 3-point shooting contest isn’t exciting, and the actual game is less competitive than a pick-up game at a local park despite repeated efforts to manufacture an interesting product. The NBA needs to find a better way to showcase its world class athletes.

Dan Patrick: “They’re still trying to figure out this All-Star Game. And now, like, Kevin Durant says, ‘Let’s go back to East vs. West.’ Well, you guys did that and you screwed it up. So there is no fix for the All-Star Game.”
