February Is the Season of Hope for NFL Fans

As the NFL Combine gets into full swing in Indianapolis, Dan chuckles at the idea that fans can get any reliable information from the coaches and GMs talking to the media this week. Yet he admits he’s still paying attention mostly because there really isn’t anything else keeping his attention and he needs his football fix. But before any draft picks are made or games are played, even the worst teams can cling to hope before the reality of the season crashes down on them once again.

Dan Patrick: “You have hope right now in late February. You have hope. Free agency coming up in a couple of weeks, the draft coming up; you’ve got hope. Even offseason, the schedule; you’ve got hope. And then all of a sudden reality sets in and it’s (the) middle of October and you go, ‘Damn, though we were gonna be good!’ No, you’re the Jets.”
